headsets and the weirdness of it

so i was on a bus going home from work when i saw not one but two chinese ladies talking to someone on their phones. they were using their headsets. what's weird about it? picture this: they were holding the phone on one hand and their other hand is holding the headset's mouthpiece closer to their mouth. and all this time i thought headsets were meant for hands-free use of phones and yet both ladies were using both of their hands. and as if they don't already talk loud enough for the whole bus to hear their entire conversation, they had to speak even louder because the person on the other line couldn't hear them well.

my advice: unhook those headsets and just use your phones as it is. save yourself the trouble of using two hands and also save us, the people on the bus, from your noisy blabbing. thank you.
